February progress - Allietare

At this point, my Allietare quilt top is finished and ready for the quilting process.  I'm quilting it on my Bernina 440 domestic and I've decided against using the stitch regulator since there are so many seams.

I used the walking foot to stitch in the ditch around each large block, and around the narrow gold border.  Then I did a small zig-zag around the outer edges just to keep them in place.

Next I free-motion quilted in the setting pieces around the outer edges.

Now I'm working my way down the diagonal columns of blocks with free-motion quilting.

I plan to scallop the edges on the black border, using the templates Bonnie Hunter has provided, but that can't be done until the quilting is finished.

The photo below shows the backing on the top left and the binding on the bottom left.
